BLACK SIMONE 2, was one of the first boards I tried from the Fly Black Bird project. At first glance I doubted if the board worked. It’s a 5’2’’ practically no rocker, with a radical moon tail, with beautiful wooden glass on keels (twinzer), a painting with vivid shades of yellow, pink and black. The board is a real experiment. Over time I learned to flow with her, to feel her qualities, to tame her difficulties, and I discovered a fast universe, unusual new possibilities, very different from what I usually see and surf. It was a real love affair. Concessions, sensations, learning, dedication, unforgettable moments. This small clip portrays a session in Carcavelos, filmed by Tobias Ilsanker and another in Ipanema filmed by Caio Guedes. Although it represents only a little of what we live together, the clip records some of these good moments, with a top class soundtrack and that artistic touch of FBB by Pedro Falcão. This small video is about our board Black Peterson 1, which is an homage to Michael Peterson (1952-2012). Here you can see how this board goes on the wave, and how fun and easy it could be. Of course with John Magrath riding it, makes it look beautiful.

On 27th July, Fly Black Bird made his first Test Drive, on the beach of Foz do Arelho and Almagreira, Portugal. We appreciate the participation of surfers Tomás Sales, Joe, Nuno Mendes and shaper Luís Brito. The sea had some waves, but windy and a bit cluttered. It's always fun. Enjoy!

Luís Brito is one of the shapers of Fly Black Bird surfboards. On this vídeo we can see him riding on Black Angel 4. After this beautifull session I can ensure that Brito is an happy man. Aloha!
